Student's Council
To develop and promote leadership qualities among students, the college selects a student council. The purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out college activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to college spirit and community welfare, the student council acts as the voice of the student body. They help share student ideas, interests and concerns with the principal and college faculty.

Teacher - Parents Forum
To ensure the all-round development of students, regular Parent Teacher meetings are conducted. Students and parents are invited to these meetings to assess the performance of the student on an individual basis, identify strengths and weaknesses, and take appropriate measures in the preparation for the academic success of the student.
These forums create a platform for constructive dialogue between parents and faculty. The collaboration fosters better understanding of student needs and challenges. Parents are encouraged to interact with the faculty on a regular basis and monitor the performance and progress of the student throughout the academic year.
Anti-ragging Cell
Ragging is strictly banned at Shantiniketan College. Any student found indulging in ragging in any form, directly or indirectly, actively or passively, or being a part of conspiracy to promote ragging, within or outside the campus, would face strict disciplinary action by the College.
To ensure that we provide a safe and secure environment for our students, we have established an Anti-ragging Cell as per the guidelines of UGC. All complaints pertaining to any kind of ragging by any student/group of students of the SEI inside or outside the College campus may be reported to the Anti-ragging Cell by writing a letter or sending a mail to antiraggingcell@shantiniketanit.com.

SEI prohibits any form of sexual harassment including unwelcome sexually motivated behavior (direct or implied) such as physical contact and advances, unwelcome communications or invitations, demand or request for sexual favors, sexually cultured remarks, showing pornography, and any other unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal expressions of sexual nature which affect a person’s right to work in a congenial environment at the workplace.
If any student or staff believes that they have been subjected to sexual harassment, such person may file a complaint with any member of the committee or send an email to harrassmentredressalcommittee@shantiniketanit.com.

Students’ Counselling Cell
Our students come from various social, economic, and cultural backgrounds. Sometimes they face challenges while adapting to college life. To help our students deal with these challenges, we have hired a full-time counselor to listen to their concerns about academic, emotional, or social problems.
The main role of the counselor is to ensure that students process their problems in a timely manner and plan appropriate goals and actions. While students are encouraged to visit the counselor by voluntary appointment, teachers may also refer students who they feel will benefit from such support.
Our counselor also helps mediate conflicts between students and teachers. This helps address behavioral issues and allows teachers to better understand their students. All information shared is kept confidential, unless the situation involves concerns regarding the student’s safety.
Equal Opportunity Cell
Shantiniketan College has established an Equal Opportunity Cell, as per the guidelines of UGC, to oversee the effective implementation of policies and programs for disadvantaged groups. The cell provides guidance and counseling with respect to academic, financial, social, and other matters, and aims to enhance the diversity within the campus.
At SEI, we ensure that equal opportunity is given to all students for participation in all college activities without any discrimination based on color, caste, creed, economic status, or gender. In case of any grievance related to discrimination, students can approach the Equal Opportunity Cell to find an amicable solution.

Placement Cell
Campus recruitment is available through our Placement Cell for students in the final year of their program of study. The Placement Cell coordinates placement activities on campus. There is a great deal of enthusiasm among final year students when the placement season begins. Students frequently approach the cell with queries regarding companies and placement procedures, and the Placement Cell members readily assist them.
In addition to ongoing employability training programs, the Placement Cell also conducts an intensive training workshop to groom students and make them industry-ready. Spread over two weeks, the workshop covers resume building, group discussions, mock interviews, current affairs, one-minute self-introductions, and soft skills training. Final year students also undergo a computer literacy course, including Tally.
