How we build number sense early, and steady guidance later.

From a child's first years of school to the finish line of the Boards, two programs run underneath every classroom at SEI — one trains the mind to calculate, the other makes sure no student walks the senior years alone.

Mental Maths

GRADES 1–8

Strong mathematical thinking begins with a good understanding of numbers. Our Mental Maths Program helps students develop number sense, improve calculation skills, and become more confident in solving problems.

Through regular practice and engaging activities, students learn to calculate with greater speed and accuracy while developing logical thinking and the ability to approach problems in different ways.

How the program works
  • A dedicated Mental Maths session is conducted every week.
  • Activities are planned according to the learning level and curriculum of each grade.
  • Students practice mental calculations, number sense, estimation, logical reasoning, and problem-solving.
  • Regular assessments help teachers track progress and identify areas that need more attention.
  • The level of complexity increases gradually as students move from the primary to the middle school years.

The program aims to help students become confident and flexible mathematical thinkers, giving them a strong foundation that supports learning across subjects and prepares them for more advanced mathematical challenges.

Mentor Group

GRADES 8–10

As students move into the senior years of school, they need more than academic support — they need someone who knows their strengths, understands their challenges, and can guide them along the way.

Through our Mentor Group Program, every student is supported by a dedicated Mentor Teacher who works closely with them to stay on track academically and prepare for the years ahead.

What students receive
  • Personalized academic guidance and regular one-to-one support.
  • Continuous tracking of academic progress and learning needs.
  • Help with setting goals and working on areas that need improvement.
  • Guidance as students prepare for Board examinations and future academic pathways.
  • Regular communication between the mentor, student, and parents.
  • Timely intervention and support whenever a student needs additional help.

The goal is simple — to ensure that every student feels supported, stays focused, and has the confidence to make the most of their abilities.
