After School Program

After School Program

Recognizing the need for quality care after school, SEI provides extended hours of operation providing our students (age 3 to 7 years) with opportunities to explore other areas of interest. This program will also help lighten the load on you, as busy parents, by centralizing many of your child’s extracurricular activities in one place!

Dance
(age 3 to 7 years)

Art & Craft
(age 3 to 7 years)

SEI Preprimary offers contemporary dance. Contemporary dance is focused on spontaneity and self-expression, as opposed to choreography and rigid technique, students in contemporary dance classes tend to develop better self-awareness, both physical and emotional, along with the fitness and flexibility that all dance classes offer.

Dance lessons can help children improve their social skills and enable them to communicate better, learn teamwork, develop a greater sense of trust and cooperation as well as make new friends.

Contemporary dance can also improve:
  • Creative Thinking
  • Self-Expression
  • Muscle tone
  • Increase balance and coordination and Reduce Stress

Arts and crafts are great for learners of all ages as it accelerates the development of muscles in the hands and fingers, improving fine motor skills that are essential for school success in the early years.

At SEI Pre-primary we make an extra effort to incorporate the types of arts and crafts based on the child’s interest, attention span and learning needs to ensure a well-rounded development of the child.

Some of the activities we do include:
  • Painting
  • Drawing
  • Creating cards etc.

Classical Music
(age 3 to 7 years)

Karate
(age 3 to 7 years)

At SEI Preprimary we teach Carnatic Music which is a systematically structured form of classical music. Learning classical music boosts children’s concentration and self-discipline and improves their general listening and social skills.

Classical Carnatic music training can give the children advantages in pitch perception, verbal memory, and ability to recognize and work with sounds in spoken language.

Karate helps the child not only to be able to defend him/herself but also prepares the child to face the future with confidence. In karate training kids learn good habits like punctuality, to respect their teacher, partners, opponents, to practice hard, to live a healthy lifestyle, to take good care of their body, mind and spirit etc. It also helps improve their self-confidence and develop a never give up attitude.

Language and Literacy
(age 3 to 7 years)

Chess
(age 3 to 7 years)

At SEI Preprimary language and literacy activities are implemented in four general forms: reading, writing, speaking and listening.
Chess is a thinking game. It is a great tool for children’s development as it requires strategy, foresight, and problem-solving – things absent from most other types of games.

Hale to Play
(age 2 to 7 years)

The HTP program at SEI Preprimary focuses on developing gross motor skills like crawling, jumping, running and fine motor skills like grasping pencils, stacking toys and buttoning clothes. Using music and games children learn and express independence through movement, practice coordination and balancing skills there by laying the foundation for a healthy, active life.

We also introduce them to football, basketball and volleyball. Our Yoga program helps the toddlers learn how to relax and be still.
